Term and Conditions

Eligibility:

Tournament is open only to 18 years of age or older.

Employees of World Series of Dominoes Limited and its, affiliates, contractors hired for the operation of the World Series of Dominoes Tournaments or sponsors and immediate family members of such employees are not eligible to play in any World Series of Dominoes events, unless approved in advance by The World Series of Dominoes. Immediate Family is defined as: spouse, children and any relative or other person residing in the employee’s place of residence.

This Agreement is made under and shall be construed according to the laws of Jamaica.

General Conditions:

By participating in this Tournament, each Entrant fully and unconditionally agrees to and accepts these Official Rules and the decisions of the World Series of Dominoes Limited (WSoD) and the tournament officials which are final and binding in all matters related to the Tournament. Winning any prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.

The cash prizes listed above represents the maximum amounts to each place winner and may be less depending on the number of paid entrants.

Taxes on any prize, if any, are the sole responsibility of the prize winner.

World Series of Dominoes Limited (the “WSoD”) is not responsible for lost, incomplete, illegible, late, misdirected, stolen, or mutilated entries; any error, omission, interruption, defect or delay in transmission, 3rd party transaction classification, transaction processing, or communication; technical or mechanical malfunctions; failures or malfunctions of phones, phone lines, or telephone systems; errors in these Official Rules, in any Tournament-related advertisements or other materials; human-processing error; failures of electronic equipment, computer hardware or software; or inaccurate entry information, whether caused by equipment, programming used in the tournament, human error, or otherwise. WSoD reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to void any and all entries of an entrant who WSoD believes has attempted to tamper with or impair the administration, security, fairness, or proper play of the tournament. Winners' consent to the use of his or her name/likeness for publicity purposes without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.

Official Rules:

All entrants are encouraged to play with a spirit of fun, guided by a sense of fairness.

A WSoD coordinator will contact you with your date, time and venue for your elimination. It is the responsibility of each player to be on time for checking in. Ignorance is no defense against forfeit.

Entrants are not permitted to offer or accept sponsorship without the explicit permission of WSoD.

Attire:

Entrants must be appropriately attired at all times during the game proceedings. Sleeveless shirts, short pants and slippers are not permitted.

Entrants may not wear or brandish clothing or items printed with insignias, logos, icons, or slogans belonging to any company without WSoD's explicit permission. Such items should be remove immediately otherwise the entrant in question will face disqualification. However, items distributed by WSoD's marshals or representatives are permitted.

Conduct:

In the event of a dispute the decision of the officials will be final. Any unacceptable standard of behaviour by a player can result in disqualification from the tournament. In any dispute played domino tiles are to be left untouched and a tournament official called. They will then give a ruling.

Spectators must observe complete silence during matches. Spectators have no right to draw attention to any misplays or make any comment on plays. If such a case arises the offended player has the right to request the officials to give a ruling. Any proven signaling between player and spectator will result in the player's instant disqualification from the Tournament. The spectator will be removed from the event. All players have the right to request that any spectator(s) leave the table and it will not be necessary for a player to give a reason. The official Tournament language is English. No speech in any other language will be permitted between players and spectators, or spectators and other spectators when matches are in progress.

Players may drink during game play. Alcohol beverages will be allow. However, if a players behaviour become disturbing and/or disruptive to the other players (both on the player's table and the surrounding tables) he/she may face disqualification.

Players must conduct themselves in a respectful manner to the officials, marshals and the other players at all times. In failing to do so, the WSoD reserves the right to disqualify and dismissal the entrant from the premises and tournament. Refunds on entrance fees are at the sole discretion of the WSoD. Players will refrain from shouting, slamming the domino tiles on the table, using indecent/bad words and disturb the domino tiles already placed on the table.

The question of whether byes should or should not be allocated to seeded players will be left to the discretion of the Tournament Officials.

Game play:

Cut-Throat domino will apply in all games.

A round consists of three (3) "straight-six" or "race to six" games.

Players are scored by the amount of hands won. One (1) win is one point. The player with the highest score at the end of all three (3) matches will qualify for the next round. The remaining three (3) players will be eliminated.

If a player drops a SIX-LOVE on the entire table, he or she will win $10,000.00 cash and a case of Dragon Stout instantly.

The female player who reaches the highest level will receive $100,000.00.

In the event of a tie, a "best-of-three" tie-breaker set will be played.

All game must be played out completely. In the case of a blocked game, the marshal will determined the winner of that game by counting each players domino pipes. Players will arrive promptly for matches. If a player is not seated at their designated tables within ten (10) minutes after their name is called, he/she will may face forfeit and another player will be given the seat.

Players are responsible for securing their domino tiles during game play. If a tile is exposed, the game will continue at the disadvantage of the player. However, reshuffling and re-drawing of hands is at the discretion of the other players.

All matches will be observed and refereed by a WSoD marshal.

Miscellaneous:

By participating, entrants and winners agree to be bound by these Official Rules and agree that: 1) Released Parties and their designees and assigns shall have the right and permission to use (unless prohibited by law) their name, voice, city/state of residence, photograph, and/or likeness for advertising and/or trade and/or any other purpose in any media or format now or hereafter known without further compensation, permission, or notification; and 2) Released Parties and their designees and assigns and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, shareholders, representatives, sponsors and agents shall have no liability and will be held harmless for any liability, loss, injury or death to entrant, recipient(s) (if any), or any other person, including, without limitation, damage to personal or real property, due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, by reason of the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the prize.

WSoD reserves the right to change, amend or adjust, in part or in entirety, these terms and conditions at anytime without consent, permission or prior notice.
